MIGRA/PS-Export for Microsoft Exchange Migration Wizard lets organizations easily move to Microsoft Exchange Server from IBM's OfficeVision/MVS -- an e-mail system for which Microsoft does not provide migration tools. MIGRA eliminates the waste of time and money that results from users having to migrate their mail manually.

Using MIGRA the administrator defines the users to be migrated and the parameters for the migration. MIGRA also estimates the size of the items to be migrated. This feature helps the administrator ensure there is sufficient space on the target message store.

MIGRA uses the Microsoft Exchange Migration Wizard to define migrating users in the Exchange Server and to import their mail items. It preserves profile information from the original items on the host to ensure that:

mail that was in a host In-Basket goes to the corresponding Exchange Inbox
read/unread status is preserved
items from the host File Cabinet go into the equivalent folders on the Exchange Server

Even after the migration is complete, MIGRA redirects new mail destined to the user's old host address by forwarding it to the user's new address on the LAN.

Organizations that use TBS Software's CLASY product to archive their mail from OfficeVision/MVS can further minimize the volume of mail that is migrated by letting migrated users search the CLASY archive and retrieve items directly to their Exchange Inbox.
